Complaint Regarding Unauthorized Passengers, Poor Hygiene, and Lack of Assistance on Train No. 13006 Amritsar–Howrah Express (Journey Date: 09 May 2026)

Complaint Description

I wish to lodge a formal complaint regarding the extremely unsatisfactory travel experience my fellow passengers and I faced while traveling on Train No. 13006 Amritsar–Howrah Express on 09 May 2026. Our tickets were in RAC status, and many elderly passengers were also traveling under similar conditions. Despite having valid reserved tickets, we faced significant inconvenience throughout the journey. The major issues were as follows: A large number of unauthorized persons boarded the train during the journey. Some individuals claimed to be railway staff and occupied space meant for passengers, causing harassment and discomfort to those who had paid for reserved tickets. Several people repeatedly stated that the TTE had approved them to use berths, while genuine passengers with RAC tickets were forced to remain seated for almost the entire journey. RailMadad complaints were submitted during the journey, but no railway staff came to address the issues or provide assistance. The washrooms were extremely dirty and poorly maintained throughout the trip. RPF personnel were not visible when their presence was required for passenger safety and crowd control. The TTE was unavailable for most of the journey, making it difficult to seek assistance or verify the legitimacy of the persons occupying reserved spaces. As fare-paying passengers, we expect proper enforcement of reservation rules, cleanliness, passenger safety, and timely response to complaints. The conditions on this journey caused considerable inconvenience, particularly to elderly passengers and those traveling with RAC tickets. I request that this matter be investigated and that appropriate action be taken against unauthorized occupancy and the failure of railway staff to address passenger complaints. I would also appreciate being informed of the outcome of the investigation.
