Complaint Against TTE for Demanding Bribe on Lichchhavi Express
Complaint Description
I am traveling on Lichchhavi Express and boarded the train from Ghaziabad. My ticket was not confirmed, so I purchased a valid general ticket and approached the TTE to inquire about officially upgrading to a sleeper-class ticket as per railway rules. However, one of the TTEs demanded "kharcha-pani" (extra money/bribe) instead of following the proper procedure. I observed that he was collecting money from multiple passengers in a similar manner and allowing them to travel without issuing proper tickets or receipts. There were also railway police personnel present, but no action was taken. It appeared to be a routine practice, and many passengers paid the money without complaining. I request Railway authorities to investigate this matter seriously. If CCTV footage, passenger statements, and ticket records are checked, the truth can be verified. Such corruption damages the reputation of Indian Railways and causes inconvenience and harassment to honest passengers who are willing to follow the rules and pay the proper fare. Kindly take appropriate action against the concerned staff and ensure that passengers are treated fairly and according to railway regulations.
